OUR STORY
ĪMANE the Label was created during a particularly formative time in my life.
After my Umrah, I began wearing hijab – a decision born of inner conviction that rearranged many things within me. Shortly afterward, I found myself in a period of transition: heavily pregnant, full of anticipation and simultaneously in a profound process of change and inner growth.
Wearing the hijab also changed my perspective on clothing. It was no longer just about style – it became an expression of my attitude, my values, and my identity.
The desire was clear: to dress modestly without being invisible. Aesthetics should not contradict modesty. I was looking for feminine silhouettes, softly flowing fabrics, and designs that naturally combine dignity and beauty.
ĪMANE came into being – not from a perfectly crafted business plan, but from an honest need: to create what I myself had been missing
The Beginning
We began developing our own designs, refining cuts, and selecting fabrics. ĪMANE was intended to be modern, minimalist and timeless.
Like many young brands, we initially produced in China. During this phase, the main focus was on making our vision a reality .
The focus on the big picture – on supply chains, material origin and responsibility – was not yet sharp enough.
We didn't ask the right questions. And we didn't fully understand the responsibility that comes with each decision.
Not out of indifference. But because we too had to grow first .
Responsibility
Growth means taking responsibility.
In Islam, this principle is taught through Amanah – the responsibility for what has been entrusted to us. This includes not only ourselves, but also other people and the environment.
Over time, we realized: It's not enough for something to just look beautiful.
That's why we're asking different questions today. We're scrutinizing supply chains, paying closer attention to materials, examining alternatives and seeking more conscious production methods.
We now produce ethically in Turkey – in a small family business with good working conditions and, of course, no child labor. We can visit the production facility at any time and see for ourselves the working conditions.
We now even know the people who sew our clothes personally – for us, this is a big step towards real responsibility.
